Sydney has made quite the turnaround since its days as a British penal colony. Today, the Australian city is a booming metropolis that boasts beautiful scenery, incredibly fresh seafood, and a honed sense of adventure.
Pass the famed Opera House as you scale the Sydney Harbour Bridge for breathtaking views that you can only get hundreds of feet above the water. If the panorama from the bridge isn't enough, you can dine inside the Opera House itself at in-house restaurant Bennelong. It’s just one of many places to find a taste of the city’s local seafood—the waterfront Cirrus is another ace example.
Just to the north of Cirrus, soak up the indigenous history of the city at the Barangaroo Reserve, dedicated to the legacy of the area’s original inhabitants. Or check out one of the largest collections of contemporary Chinese art at the White Rabbit Gallery in Strawberry Hills. As for beaches, you can’t do better than famed Bondi, with its white sand, clear waters, and volleyball. It’s the perfect place to recharge before heading back into this super, sunny town.
