Long a destination for Slavic immigrants, KCK, as the locals call it, has of late attracted a hip new clutch of small business owners.

“I like going to Splitlog Coffee Co., a place that remembers my order: the brown sugar and cinnamon latte, which tastes like those cheap oatmeal packets but is weirdly delicious. I also like the big ol’ mural of the neighborhood founder, Mr. Splitlog, holding a strawberry.”
