Welcome aboard! Whether you’re traveling for business or leisure, we’re privileged to serve you today. On behalf of United’s Global Network and Alliances team, I am honored to have you on United for your travel journey. We are proud to be the world’s largest airline, with the most diverse set of destinations of any carrier in the Western Hemisphere. It is my role at United to continue to expand our global portfolio, bringing you service to unique destinations while also adding service to popular cities for you, our guest, to explore.
An International Summer Schedule Like No Other
In 2022, United became the largest carrier across the Atlantic and the Pacific, and in 2023, our summer schedule is 25 percent larger than 2022—with service to 114 international destinations. As we continue to see international travel demand grow, we’re proud to build on our industry-leading global network.
Across the Atlantic, we have service to 37 destinations—more than all other U.S. airlines combined. Our summer schedule will give you more access to the most popular destinations in Europe, as well as a chance to visit new, exciting locales that are unique to United. In late March, we had our inaugural flight to Dubai, and in the coming weeks we will launch new seasonal service to Málaga, Spain, and Stockholm, Sweden.
Our new year-round flight between New York/Newark and Dubai is part of our historic commercial agreement with Emirates. We are the only U.S. airline to serve Dubai, and this flight gives our customers easy one-stop connections to more than 100 destinations in the Middle East, India, Africa, and beyond on the Emirates and flydubai networks.
United’s new seasonal service between New York/Newark and Málaga provides more access to Spain’s Mediterranean coast and is our first time ever serving the city. In Spain, we serve five cities, including direct service to three cities that no other U.S. airline serves: Málaga, Tenerife, and Palma de Mallorca.
Our return to Stockholm for the first time since 2019 will give our customers a chance to explore what locals proudly refer to as the “beauty on water.” We first served Stockholm in 2005, and we look forward to reconnecting our customers to this culturally rich and dynamic capital city with our seasonal service from New York/Newark.
Beyond these new destinations, we’re introducing more service to some of the most popular cities in Europe, including Rome, Naples, Paris, Barcelona, London, Berlin, and Shannon, Ireland.
And it’s not just the Atlantic. In the Pacific, we will serve 27 destinations this summer—more than all other U.S. airlines combined. In Australia, we are expanding in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, and in Japan, we have 10 daily transpacific flights to Tokyo-Haneda, Tokyo-Narita, and Osaka. Our schedule also includes twice-daily service to Seoul and Singapore, as well as nonstop flights to Hong Kong and Auckland from San Francisco.
Exciting New Plans for Winter
At United, we believe it’s never too early to be thinking about your winter holiday getaways. As we look ahead to winter 2023, I’m excited to announce that we are continuing our investment in the South Pacific region, with brand new service to Christchurch, New Zealand, and more service to Sydney, Brisbane, and Auckland. We’re excited to take you on your journey today and introduce you to more destinations in the future. As always, thank you for choosing to fly with United.
Sincerely,
Patrick Quayle
