Many of you are closing out your year with travel or are on your way to holiday-season festivities. Here at United, we are thrilled to round out the year with an exciting milestone: the introduction of our first new Airbus aircraft in over two decades, the A321neo.
I had the pleasure of being on hand to “take the keys” of this new aircraft. The neo represents the continuous progress of our growth plan and one of many ways we’re elevating the customer experience.
There’s plenty to look forward to onboard our newest aircraft. The neo has a modern, innovative interior with LED lighting, seatback screen entertainment at every seat, in-seat power and wireless Bluetooth connections, and enough space in overhead bins for one carry-on per person.
In addition to the neo, all of our other new single-aisle planes will have these great features. And each of our widebody aircraft features United Polaris® business class, where customers get their own pod with lie-flat seats and 16-inch seatback screens.
By 2026, we plan to upgrade all of our existing aircraft to include the customer amenities and innovative technology upgrades of our new signature interior. In total, we expect to take delivery of over 800 new aircraft by 2032, creating even more available seats and options when you travel with United. Today, we have over a hundred aircraft in our fleet with these updated amenities onboard, and we’re bringing new planes into service weekly.
We are building a bright future of travel here at United and are excited to have you along for the journey as we modernize our fleet and elevate the flying experience onboard United aircraft. We’re determined to provide the best customer experience for our passengers, and with the introduction of the A321neo, we are continuing on that journey.
Wishing you a happy holiday season and continued travels with United in the New Year. Thank you,
Andrew Nocella
