This fall, you can get to both of them easier than ever by flying United, because we’re making the largest South Pacific expansion in our history. Regardless of where you’re traveling from, spending the winter in the warm, sunny South Pacific makes for a memorable vacation or adventure. Around every corner, you’ll find breathtaking landscapes, thrilling outdoor activities, rare wildlife sightings, and white-sand beaches. Ready to book your flight? We’re adding new nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Brisbane, Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand, and we’re also increasing service to the region from San Francisco, with daily flights to Brisbane, twice-daily flights to Sydney, and a new weekly flight to Christchurch, New Zealand (subject to government approval).
What’s more, thanks to our relationships with Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia, travelers can enjoy easy, one-stop connections from these cities to more than 50 regional destinations.
Visit the Metropolis of Auckland, New Zealand
Take in the vibrant city life of New Zealand’s North Island when you visit Auckland. Starting October 28, United will add weekly seasonal flights from Los Angeles to Auckland on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. We are the only U.S. carrier to serve Auckland year-round, with our existing service from San Francisco.
A Unique New Zealand Experience Awaits in Christchurch
Or, head to New Zealand’s South Island to enjoy an evolving city with exciting attractions and picturesque natural landscapes perfect for exploring. Starting December 1, we will be the only airline to offer direct flights between the U.S. and New Zealand’s South Island, with the first direct San Francisco to Christchurch flight. We will fly this route three times weekly on our Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
More Flights to Australia than Ever Before
Australia is a sightseeing wonderland, from the Great Barrier Reef to the Sydney Opera House, and its laid-back vibe makes it a must-experience destination for every kind of traveler. On November 29, we will be adding three weekly flights to Brisbane from Los Angeles on our Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. In addition to adding new routes to our schedule, we will also increase our service from San Francisco to Sydney and Brisbane. Starting October 28, we will offer daily flights between San Francisco and Brisbane on our Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and twice-daily flights between San Francisco and Sydney on our Boeing 777-300ER. United will also offer 65 percent more seats between San Francisco and Melbourne on our largest aircraft, the Boeing 777-300ER.
