With summer on the horizon, we know many of you have been dreaming of the perfect moment to take that long-overdue international trip. As the head of international network and alliances, I know the entire United team has been preparing for this—working hard to bring you the best route network in the industry.
It’s remarkable to see how far we’ve come since the start of the pandemic. From the outset, we have been committed to maintaining vital links across the globe while also adding new dots to the map to make travel easier for you. Looking ahead, our summer schedule includes the largest growth in United’s history, and it will cement our place as the #1 carrier across the Atlantic. For this reason, we are even better positioned to live out our purpose of “Connecting People. Uniting the World.”
At United, we pride ourselves on our ability to provide you with access to up-and-coming travel destinations that no other North American carrier serves. Starting this summer, we’ll present you with an unparalleled portal to the world, offering an array of cities to discover—from timeless, historic destinations to new, trendy locales, with new flights to Amman, Jordan; Azores, Portugal; Bergen, Norway; Palma de Mallorca, Spain; and Tenerife, in the Spanish Canary Islands.
Beyond these new destinations, we are also adding more flights to iconic, popular European cities including Dublin, Ireland; Munich, Germany; and Milan and Rome, Italy. In the United Kingdom, we are growing to 22 daily flights to London, England, including new service from Boston, Massachusetts. With our recent expansion of Cape Town to year-round service, we will now serve four African destinations this summer: Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa; Accra, Ghana; and Lagos, Nigeria.
We are seeing very strong demand worldwide, and with border restrictions continuing to recede, we look forward to taking you to even more of your favorite destinations this summer, fall, and beyond. United continues to be a leading global airline because—no matter what—we are dedicated to doing the right thing for our guests and our team members. That’s what sets United apart, and it’s why we’re on track to become the world’s biggest and best airline.
We’re excited to take you on your journey today and introduce you to even more destinations in the future. As always, we thank you for choosing to fly with United.
Sincerely,
Patrick Quayle
Senior Vice President of International Network and Alliances
