Earlier this summer, we announced the largest aircraft purchase that our industry has seen in a decade, and by 2023 we’ll be adding an average of one brand-new plane to our mainline fleet every three days. As the world continues to open, we’re continuing to lead, with a committed focus on improving your experience every time you fly with us.
All of these new aircraft will be outfitted with United’s signature interior, which includes more premium cabin seats, as well as better entertainment, overhead storage, and technology features for everyone on board. We’ll also be upgrading all of our current mainline planes to our signature standard, with 66 percent of these updates due to be completed by 2023 and 100 percent by 2025.
With United’s signature interior, you will enjoy plenty of space for everyone’s carry-ons, in-seat power and seatback entertainment in every seat, Bluetooth technology, the industry’s fastest inflight Wi-Fi, and an all-around stylish, upgraded interior.
As we add these larger aircraft and fly fewer regional planes, we’ll have more premium cabin and Economy Plus® seats than ever before, giving you better opportunities for upgrades and extra comfort on your flights. And our new aircraft will also be more fuel-efficient, helping us get even closer to our goal of reducing our greenhouse gas emissions 100 percent by 2050.
By adding and upgrading this many aircraft so quickly across our network, we’ll combine our friendly, helpful, and caring service with the best experience in the sky. That means a better travel experience and more opportunities for you and your family to connect to brand-new destinations. Thank you for being a United customer, and I look forward to welcoming you on board one of our new aircraft soon.
Sincerely,
Scott Kirby
