Is it too early to start planning your summer vacation? Absolutely not. Here at United, we’re getting a jump on summer by adding more new routes than ever before. We’re also starting many of our seasonal summer routes nearly three months earlier, so you have more time to make it to every destination on your wish list in 2024.
In October 2023, United announced our largest trans-Atlantic schedule ever, which means you’ll have the chance to fly nonstop to 38 cities across the Atlantic this summer. This includes the first and only direct flight between the U.S. and Faro, Portugal, along with new flights to Reykjavík, Iceland; Barcelona and Málaga, Spain; Brussels; and Rome. You’ll also have plenty of extra time to embark on your European adventure, as our seasonal service to popular destinations—such as Athens, Greece; Barcelona, Spain; Edinburgh, Scotland; Lisbon, Portugal; Naples, Italy; Nice, France; Madrid; Milan; and Rome—will start as early as February 15.
“Whether you are looking to travel during peak season or shoulder season, visit the most popular tourism destinations, or discover a hidden gem, United has the most flights to the most destinations across the Atlantic,” says Patrick Quayle, United’s Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances. “We’re now giving travelers even more flexibility and choice when planning their trips abroad.”
To make things even more exciting, we’ve also added more nonstop flights to Asia-Pacific, Caribbean, and Latin American destinations. You’ll have the chance to fly nonstop to 15 destinations across the Pacific, including our new flight to Manila, Philippines, and the return of daily nonstop service to Beijing. New routes to San Juan, Puerto Rico; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Barbados; and Curaçao are also underway, along with up to 35 weekly flights we’ve added to the brand-new Tulum Airport, making it easier than ever to visit Mexico’s stunning Riviera Maya.
Which one of these new routes will you adventure to first?
Faro, Portugal
Experience the beauty of the Algarve region with our new flight to Faro. Portugal’s stunning southernmost region is known for its scenic coastline, secluded beaches, and quaint cobblestoned streets. When you’re not kayaking through hidden coves or sunbathing on golden sands, you can stroll through several beach towns filled with rich culture, history, and cuisine.
Manila, Philippines
Eager to explore the 7,000 tiny islands that make up the Philippines? We can make that happen with our new flight to Manila. Spend time shopping and eating your way through the country’s capital, then hop on a short flight to islands like Boracay, Palawan, or Camiguin to see some of the most beautiful white-sand beaches in the world.
Tulum, Mexico
Just south of Cancún, you’ll find Tulum, a town on the Yucatan Peninsula with amazing beaches, restaurants, and adventure opportunities. Beyond the white-sand beaches and turquoise waters, you’ll find lush jungles, Mayan ruins, and tucked-away cenotes (underwater caves) to swim in. After a day of exploring, you can head out on the town to experience the area’s upscale nightlife and dining.
We’re deeming 2024 the year you get to see the world—all that’s left to do is pick where to go and plan your PTO.
