Happy Cinco de Mayo! Since we can’t get out and celebrate at our favorite places, we’re reminiscing on the best margaritas we’ve ever had.
“The best city to drink margaritas is Austin. It’s hard to find a bad one but my favorite is the Margarita La Condesa at La Condesa, which mixes in fresh pineapple juice and has a cactus-lemongrass salt rim. That said, last week I ordered delivery from one of my fave NYC Mexican restaurants, Calexico, and the tart and potent margarita that arrived in a plastic container was absolute perfection. “One of my old regular spots in San Francisco, the Latin American Club in the Mission District, is famous for its margaritas. They’re not the BEST margs I’ve ever had, but they’re seriously powerful and served in pint glasses, so they’re … effective.
